About Me
My name is Anita Etta and I am a certified integrative nutrition health coach and a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, New York, USA.
My journey to Wellness:
My wellness journey began as a little girl in my mother’s kitchen. After losing my grandfather to cancer, my mother began researching healthy alternatives to treating and preventing terminal illnesses. A healthy lifestyle was introduced to our home and carrot juice, cabbage juice, herbal teas, big green salads and natural supplements became the new norm. Processed foods such as white sugar, white wheat bread, sodas and many others were eliminated from our pantry. As a child, I used to wish I could eat the way most of my friends did and even cheated sometimes.
Fast forward to my college years when I lived on campus, I enjoyed all the unhealthy foods that were available. Some years later after getting married and expecting my first child, I began experiencing multiple health complications leading to a still born birth and losing my first son. Three years after that I suffered severe preeclampsia with my next pregnancy and my son was born at 7 months as a 2.2 lbs premie baby incubated in the NICU for months before coming home. I went on to have a third pregnancy that went full term for the first time but a few hours after having my daughter, I nearly bled to death eventually needing laser surgery to arrest the bleeding. I have had a D$C with my first pregnancy and two C-sections for my two living children. Since then I have dealt with various health conditions including but not limited to hypothyroidism, systemic candida, leaky gut, spinal issues, adrenal fatigue and the big C.
I have had to fall back on what my mother introduced me to as a child, natural medicine! Learning to eat as naturally as possible, improving my sleep patterns, exercising and leaning on my Christian discipline of prayer has saved my life. In the last 15 years, I have been living a healthy lifestyle and helping many others do the same.
